Tiffany Chan is the CEO and Co-Founder of Atalan, the pioneering Clinician Retention Intelligence (CRI) platform that empowers health systems to predict and prevent surprise clinician resignations up to 12 months in advance. Under her leadership, Atalan has redefined retention strategy – transforming operational and clinical data into proactive, actionable insights that help hospitals preserve revenue, maintain care continuity, and strengthen clinician wellbeing.

Before launching Atalan, Tiffany managed an engineering and applied sciences research center at Harvard University and earned her graduate degree in policy from Yale University. She brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic vision.

Driven by the mission of moving healthcare beyond reactive financial crises, Tiffany is dedicated to championing innovative, data-driven solutions that bridge clinical operations, financial sustainability, and patient-centered care.

James Ramey has been a VTC Innovation Fund member since inception. Ramey’s responsibilities include deal sourcing, due diligence, deal and closing document review and negotiation, portfolio monitoring, and other day to day operations.

Before joining the VTC Innovation Fund and Middleland Capital, Mr. Ramey was a Vice President at Tyton Partners, a leading M&A advisory firm in the education and ed-tech sectors. Notably, while at Tyton, he led the deal team in the sale of WebAssign, a provider of digital learning solutions in higher education to Cengage Learning, an education and technology Company. Prior to Tyton Partners, Ramey was a Senior Associate at Invest Nebraska Corporation, a sector-agnostic venture capital & development firm specializing in equity and debt financings within the lower middle-market. Prior to Invest Nebraska Corporation, Ramey was an Associate Attorney at Knudsen, Berkheimer, Richardson & Endacott, LLP where he practiced in a wide range of legal fields including transactional law, bankruptcy, estate planning, creditor rights, landlord/tenant, real estate, corporate law and civil litigation.
