National honor recognizes sustained growth, service delivery and leadership across the CMIT Solutions network as the company marks 30 years in business.
Dayal Bhagat, President and Chief Technology Officer of CMIT Solutions of Roanoke and North Charlotte, has been named Franchise of the Year by CMIT Solutions, the national provider of managed IT services and cybersecurity for small and midsize businesses. The award was presented at the CMIT Connect Live! 2026 awards banquet at Union Station in Indianapolis, where the company also celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Franchise of the Year is the highest honor given to an individual owner in the CMIT Solutions system. The award recognizes sustained business growth, service delivery, participation in the CMIT system, alignment with the organization’s core values and contributions to the broader franchise community.
Bhagat leads CMIT Solutions offices serving the Roanoke Valley in Virginia and the North Charlotte and Statesville regions of North Carolina, delivering managed IT, network management, cloud services, backup and disaster recovery, email security, cybersecurity and managed AI services to small and midsize businesses across a wide range of industries.
“This recognition belongs to our entire team and to the clients who trust us with their technology every day,” said Bhagat. “Small businesses today face the same cybersecurity threats as large enterprises, but without the in-house teams to meet them. Our job is to give them enterprise-grade protection and the guidance to use technology as a growth advantage rather than a source of risk.”
Before founding his CMIT Solutions practice, Bhagat served as a Senior Vice President at Bank of America, where he led large-scale global technology operations. He brings that enterprise discipline to an underserved market: small and midsize businesses that have no internal IT department and are increasingly targeted by ransomware, phishing and business email compromise.
Over the past year, his offices have expanded their security and artificial intelligence practice, adding managed detection and response, layered endpoint protection, security awareness training and managed AI services designed to help small businesses adopt automation safely and productively.
