Connecting Big Tech to Rural Virginia

June 9, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us as we discuss what localities need to do to attract tech jobs to our region and why the sector needs to be geographically diverse.

FREE — Registration required

Ro Khanna, U.S. Congressman who represents California’s 17th District, has been called an “unconventional advocate” for making the case that the nation’s tech industry should be more geographically dispersed. He is the author of two books: “Dignity in a Digital Age: Making Tech Work For Us All” and “Entrepreneurial Nation: Why Manufacturing Is Still Key To America’s Future.”

Beth Macy is a Virginia-based journalist, the author of “Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company That Addicted America”, and an executive producer and co-writer on Hulu’s “Dopesick” series. She is a member of Cardinal’s journalism advisory committee.

Brought to you by Cardinal News, The Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council, and the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center.
