cs/root Seminar

April 14, 2023 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Please join us on Friday, April 14, at 2:30 PM in 2150 Torgersen Hall for the final cs/root seminar of the spring semester. Closing out the spring seminar series is alumni Matt Pfeil (BS `05).

A serial entrepreneur and Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Top Tier Capital Partners, Matt will discuss lessons learned through his ~20 year career in west coast startups.  He’ll cover the things he wish he could change, the things he really appreciated, and the Do’s and Don’ts from his experience across multiple startups – and a venture capital firm.

cs/root is an entrepreneurial hub led by the Virginia Tech Department of Computer Science. The multi-stakeholder initiative will create a platform for computer science-focused entrepreneurship at Virginia Tech that extends to the Roanoke and New River Valleys. cs/root will provide entrepreneurs in the computer science field the opportunity to learn about the steps for starting a company, gain experience developing their own ideas, and be inspired by the careers of the department’s alumni entrepreneurs.

This spring, the Department of Computer Science is excited to launch cs/root with a series of seminars led by Alumni Speakers who will discuss their experiences as entrepreneurs in the field of innovative technology.
