Bacchus Therapeutics: From Bench to Startup
Scientists are constantly coming up with brilliant ideas. We are pleased that Bacchus Therapeutics is based on an innovative idea that has led to commercialization and investment. This event is meant to explore the pathway from bench to startup, through telling the Bacchus story. Dr. Arvin Gouw, founding CEO of the cancer biotech startup, will tell us about his transition from academic cancer research at Stanford to establishing and growing the company in Virginia. He will highlight the importance of the entrepreneurial ecosystem for scientists who are thinking about jumping into the startup world.

Dr. Arvin Gouw
Dr. Arvin Gouw is the founding CEO of Bacchus Therapeutics. Bacchus is developing small molecule inhibitors of cancer metabolic pathways. His work has been supported by the entrepreneurship programs of SPARK at Stanford, NSF’s Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program, and the Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP) at George Mason University. Bacchus has received awards from SBIR, Prince William County’s Ignite program, and Abbvie, amongst others. He holds a PhD. in Pathobiology from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
